A few weeks ago the international yacht industry came together in the spectacular Port
d’Hercule that lies in the heart of the principality of Monaco.
Now that we’ve returned to Athens with great memories of amazing yachts and even more
amazing people we’ve met, it is time to break-down some of the highlights of the 26 th
Monaco Yacht Show 2016.
580 exhibitors from 38 countries and 28% of all nautical suppliers took part in the Yacht
Show, as it welcomed over 34,000 participants which featured the future of the yachting
experience.
With 125 superyachts of which 40 were revealed at the show, this year has been a
stunningly overall success. Total combined vessels ranged from 5.1m lengths up to 90m, and
didn’t even include the 40 tenders and toys on display at two exhibition areas of the Monte
Carlo Tender Show and Water Toys Show.
Our favourite must-see yacht from the show was the brand-spanking new M/Y Galactica
Supernova from Heesen Yachts. With her impressive seventy meters, she moored in the
beautiful surroundings of Monaco. Heesen has truly raised the bar with their biggest yacht
to date. Combining elegance, luxury and performance, with a top speed of thirty knots, long
range, great manoeuvrability, and a significant reduction in fuel consumption, she is truly a
technological achievement and a step into the future of luxury cruising.
We look forward to returning to extraordinary Monaco next year for the 2017 Yacht Show
and are excited to be a part of what’s to come in the luxury yacht industry.
